 Orange Line Metro Train Basics


Orange Line Metro Train(OLMT) is the first transport project under CPEC and it is the first Electricity-run public sector transport project

Agreements and Completion 

The agreement for this project was signed in April 2015 and completed on October 9, 2020. 
The project has been completed in five and a half year as opposed to the planned two year

One side fare

The government fixed one side fare of Rs. 40   for first 6 month of period and seeks to increase it stage by stage. 
But most importantly, Punjab Government bearing Rs. 130 per passenger and per trip to run this project.

Train Info

  • 27 train sets at the start of operation 
  • Each train consist on 5 cars
  • Train is operating with 80km/h(50mph) speed
  • Track start at Ali Town station and end at Dera Gujran Station.
  • There are 26 stations in which 24 are elevated and 2 stations are underground  

  • Total line track length 27.1 km(16.8 mi)

  • Expected to handle 250,000 passenger daily

  • Train active timing for passenger is 7:30AM - 8:30 PM ( 7:30 - 20 -30 ) .
